TIPS FOR ACHIEVING BALANCE

  1. Define what balance means to you. Ask yourself - What do you want to feel like when your life is in balance?

  2. Define your priorities right now and for the next “3 months” (your call on a timeframe). Ask yourself - What is most important to you? What are the things that you are both passionate about and things you are responsible for (that you signed-up for) that you are passionately committed to?

  3. From your list of priorities, create a plan. There are 168 hours in a week. Look at all of your priorities and allot time to each of them. Figure out what the rhythms are for each of them and build a realistic schedule around them. (Be sure to allot a % of hours for when “life happens” each day/week.)
Ask yourself - What is actually achievable? What do you need to say no to right now? Where do you need to create more room in your schedule? What are the things that are the next right step for you?

  4. Live your schedule, and stay flexible. It’s not meant to be rigid. It’s meant to be your life map for each week, quarter, etc. based on your goals. If your schedule is not working for you, ask yourself - What are the things that keep swooping in and throwing you off balance? Make room for them if they are things that are important to you. Reassess your schedule regularly.

QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU GET CLEAR

Ask yourself:

  • What really matters to you?

  • Where do you operate at your best?

  • What does thriving mean to you?

  • How do you want to feel in your life every single day? What do you need to do in order to feel that way? What do you need to say NO to so that you can feel that way? What do you need to say YES to?

  • What do you need to be doing differently to feel like you are holding the reigns of your life?

  • What would it feel like to you to be thriving and to be pouring into those around you in a positive way?…and ARE you?

  • Is what you are doing working for you? Is it getting you closer to your priorities and the life that you want and the person that you want to be?

  • What is holding you back? How are you holding yourself back?

  • Who and what are you pointing fingers at? And why?

  • What is YOUR next step to achieve balance in your life? When are you going to take that step?
