HOW TO CULTIVATE BRAVERY AND CHANGE YOUR BODY SHAME MINDSET
EPISODE 7 | STASIA SAVASUK
Stasia Savasuk is revolutionizing how women think about their bodies. As a body-positivity advocate, Stasia teaches about “Inside-Out Congruency” – which is when who we are on the outside reflects who we are on the inside, a concept that has changed the lives of thousands of girls and women.
Stasia is also a style coach and the creator of “Stasia’s Style School” which is a 5-week online class and lifelong sisterhood that ushers women from feelings of insignificance, body shame, and a perpetual state of “why-bother” into radically embracing who they are and who they want to be, all while encouraging them to fully show up in the world as the BRAVE, BOLD and BEAUTIFUL woman that they are! Therefore breaking down the body shame complex one woman at a time.
Stasia recently amplified her message of “Inside-out congruency” on the Ted-x stage, and in this interview she shares with us her behind-the-scenes journey of how she bravely prepared for this event, giving us tips and examples as to how we can build our own brave muscles.

TOP 10 HIGHLIGHTS
Who are you? And how do YOU want to show up in the world? Nobody has a say in that…except for you.
There are a million versions of perfect. So let the thought of perfect go.
It’s 10% about the clothes and 90% about the voices inside your head that say you can’t wear the clothes that you want to wear.
It’s not about being fear-less. There are no fearless people. It’s about stepping into the fear, and doing it anyway.
The things that seem hard to you right now, won’t seem hard to you in the future.
If you aren’t doing something that scares you a little bit every day…you’re not really doing it.
Is the way I am showing up, causing me to also shame others and be the body shamer?
We are really quick to disown any of the positive parts of ourselves, but we can of course celebrate all of the parts that we hate about ourselves. So when you do something brave, have the courage to CALL IT WHAT IT IS. Don’t diminish it, OWN IT.
Pay attention to the thoughts you are having and decide whether or not you own them. Ask yourself “Where is that negative thought coming from? Is that my essence? Is that my soul fire? Is that the beauty of my being?” Or is that something I’ve internalized and believed about myself that is trying to take me down?
Instead of women standing in the background, spending all of our energy shaming ourselves, and diminishing ourselves, what if we stood up? What if we took up our space? What if we stood in our power? How would that shift the imbalance?
