I took my first trip to AmericasMart in Atlanta a few weeks ago, and can I just say WOW?!? I did tons of research beforehand so I could figure out a game plan and see as much of the show as possible, which after going, was a smart move. It is huge! 3 buildings, 18 floors each, full of company showrooms on each floor. I'm surprised I survived...well, I came home and have been out with the flu ever since...so I guess I barely survived! It was worth it though.

AmericasMart is where shop owners go to find the latest and greatest products they want to buy to put in their stores. I sure LOVE shopping, but I seriously don't know how the buyers do it day after day, showroom after showroom full of gorgeous products. It sure makes shopping seem like a really tough job.

I went to AmericasMart so I could meet with my current Licensees, meet some new ones, and see some of my product launches. I also had the fun opportunity to visit Anna Griffin's offices, including Blend Fabrics, and see my fabrics as well as talk through new collections. I had a blast! I know people say it over and over, but you really can't replace face to face communication. You can just get so much more done in person than you can over e-mail, and ask loads more questions.

At Blend Fabrics, I got to see their warehouse and see a row full of bolts of fabric from my lines with them. It was so fun to see them there - and I hope they all end up empty!

I just about DIED when I saw these handbags with my Caravan Dreams paisley print on them! This seriously has to be one of my favorite pieces of artwork I created in 2013, so it's so fun and fulfilling to see it being used in such a spectacular way! I hope these sell like hotcakes!

Another exciting product launch are these electronic devices that Blend is now doing. SO fun and pretty!!

It was really rewarding to see some of my new product launches, to be told that I'm really good at what I do, am valuable to a company, and to be thanked for what I do for these companies. It really made my trip to know that what I do matters to someone. That me, sitting here in Seattle, dreaming up new patterns, means something, and people are thankful for it. Sometimes I feel that being an artist is such a selfish job because it's so fulfilling to me - but when I hear these types of comments, it really allows me to believe that I can create something that reaches far outside of me, and that's what really matters – that it touches someone else.
